After the public holiday in Barcelona, Frankfurt is back to everyday Bundesliga life – and thanks to Union Berlin, it’s looking bleak for Eintracht… The Köpenickers won 2-0 in front of their home crowd! And the Berliners are now Barça-Besieger-Besieger…

Three days after the Europa League miracle at Camp Nou, Eintracht in Köpenick went back to earth. With the 2-0 win on Easter Sunday, the Berliners pass Cologne and Hoffenheim (0-0 against Fürth) in sixth place.
The hosts set the tone from the start in front of 22,012 spectators in the sold-out Alte Försterei. Genki Haraguchi’s head hit the post in the 12th minute. Taiwo Awoniyi does things better a little later, asserts himself powerfully against Martin Hinteregger and doesn’t give Trapp representative Jens Grahl a chance – 1:0 (17th). Just three minutes later, Grischa Prömel made it 2-0 with a powerful right-footed shot from 18 yards out (20′).
Eintracht, in contrast to the Europa League game changed to six positions, is completely irrelevant in this phase. Prömel (23rd) and Rani Khedira (27th/38th) miss further great chances. Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner rages on the sidelines. Union, on the other hand, is fully in the game – although the capital city already have the important cup semi-final on Wednesday against RB Leipzig in the back of their minds.

The guests are now a little better in the game and can at least balance the game. Awoniyi missed another Union chance (63′). Otherwise not much happens. The Berliners are taking it easy for the cup game, Frankfurt has no more power for the next miracle…
