Union Berlin will have to do without goalkeeper Frederik Rönnow and midfielder Andras Schäfer until further notice, as the club announced on Saturday.
Rönnow was diagnosed with a structural muscular injury after the goalkeeper had to be substituted due to injury during the half-time break in last Thursday’s Europa League game against Royale Union St. Giloise.
András Schäfer will also be out for the time being. The 23-year-old Hungary international suffered a right foot injury in the game and will undergo surgery in the coming days.
The Irons are challenged on Sunday in the Bundesliga at 3.30 p.m. at Bayer Leverkusen.
