Injury in real game
Union Berlin has to play the last two Bundesliga games this year without Robin Gosens. The national player suffered an injury in the Champions League game against Real Madrid and will therefore be out against VfL Bochum on Saturday (3:30 p.m./Sky) and against 1. FC Köln on Wednesday (6:30 p.m./Sky). Union coach Nenad Bjelica confirmed this on Friday, without naming the 29-year-old’s injury in more detail. It was said that Gosens “took a hit” against the Royals.
Bjelica also left it open whether the left wing player will be back at the start of training after the short Christmas break on January 2nd: “I can’t give this date as a fixed date. It is too early to assess the injury.” Gosens was called up in a more offensive role under the new Union coach. It is still unclear who will replace the former Inter Milan professional against Bochum and Cologne.
