Bundesliga club 1. FC Union Berlin has prematurely extended the contract with Laurenz Dehl.
The 20-year-old should also be loaned out again next season in order to get match practice. Union announced this on Monday. The right-back played for the Berlin club in 2011, last season he was loaned out to third division club Hallescher FC.
Dehl’s previous contract was only valid until the end of this season.
“We are very pleased about Laurenz’s contract extension because we want to train him in the right-back position in the future,” said Oliver Ruhnert, managing director of professional football at 1. FC Union Berlin.
And further: “He has shown since the beginning of the season that he really has a lot of talent there and that we will see him there with us in the foreseeable future. Since it is important for him to gain match practice and more experience, we are aiming for a loan for the coming season.”
