UNICEF urgently seeks $64.6 million for humanitarian aid to Haiti

In Cité Soleil, a neighborhood in the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince, one in five children suffers from acute malnutrition. Since July 8, a fierce gang war has been raging that has prevented people from leaving the neighborhood to work and earn an income, with one in twenty children even at risk of dying from malnutrition. UNICEF is sounding the alarm and needs about $64.6 million to provide humanitarian aid to more than half a million children.
