Unfoundedly refused to testify – judge imposes a fine on witnesses

In the trial against clan boss Arafat Abou-Chaker (46), ex-manager of rapper Bushido, the Berlin district court imposed a fine on a witness. DJ “Gan-G” had refused to testify to several questions without reason.

In 2017, the clan boss is said to have demanded many millions from Anis “Bushido” Ferchichi (43) for the end of their business relationship. It’s about attempted severe predatory blackmail, dangerous bodily harm, deprivation of liberty, insult. The rapper is said to have been locked up, thrown at with a bottle and chair.

► 9:58 a.m. The Berlin DJ “Gan-G” has been summoned as a witness. Farhang Ganji Dastjerdeh’s (41) lawyer says: “He is exercising his right to remain silent.”

There is a criminal tax proceeding for black money in hundreds of club shows from 2012 to 2019 by Bushido and other artists, which “are said to have led to black payments to Arafat Abou-Chaker”.

The lawyer: “It’s all about the money here!” But the judge asks anyway. “I don’t have to incriminate myself,” is usually the answer. The judge: “You are not entitled to paragraph 55. Do you want me to repeat my questions?” Answer: “Please don’t.”

Chief Public Prosecutor Petra Leister (57) applied for a fine of 800 euros plus four months of imprisonment.

The lawyer: “Four weeks.” The judge: “One week!” The lawyer: “Two weeks.” The judge: “Great, the bet stands. Then goodbye!”
