The project of the House of Moscow in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius is closed, the unfinished building will be demolished. About it wrote mayor of the city Remigius Simasius on Facebook.
“The House of Moscow will be dismantled. <...> If someone asks why the almost completed building is being demolished, and whether it can be used for other purposes – it was built above the permitted, architecturally alien, functionally incomplete and irrational, ”the mayor wrote.
He called the building a “foreign body” from an architectural and geopolitical point of view and added that it was built without proper permission.

“Now it is only a matter of time before the National Land Service officially cancels the loan agreement <...>, and the State Territorial Construction Inspectorate starts the demolition,” Šimašius said, adding that the authorities had already submitted the necessary applications for this.
