Local residents of the farm on the Zandvoort in Norg, where seven young status holders are to come this summer, are not opposed to their arrival in advance. However, there are concerns about the guidance of the young people.
This was revealed tonight at an information evening in multifunctional center De Brinkhof. About 40 local residents asked questions to the municipality of Noordenveld, Pit assistance and the Nidos Foundation. The latter foundation applies for guardianship for minor asylum seekers who come to the Netherlands. Pit-assistance is specialized in assisted living for young people in a small form of housing.
The arrival of the seven young status holders (asylum seekers with a residence permit) is accompanied by 90 supervised hours per week. Those hours are mainly during the day. Some local residents would prefer to see guidance available 24 hours a day in the initial period, but according to Pit, Nidos and the municipality of Noordenveld, that is not feasible.
There will be an on-call service, which can be contacted at any time of the day. A supervisor can then ‘be there within half an hour or forty minutes’.
