The police have arrested a minor from Amsterdam for threatening a shooting at the Spinoza20first. The secondary school on HJE Wenckebachweg in East kept its doors closed today and tomorrow because of the threat. It is not yet clear what the age of the suspect is.
A message circulating on social media threatened a shooting that would take place at the school. ‘Watch out for people on spinoza20first!! Between 13:00 and 14:00. Rector Jan Paul Beekman announced earlier today that the school will also remain closed tomorrow. Students receive online lessons and the exam candidates take their exams at the Spinoza Lyceum in Zuid.
The minor suspect is in custody and the investigation is still ongoing. For that reason, the police do not share any further substantive information.
