November last year, the broad American stock market index, the S&P500, went through the 6000 level for the first time. The Nasdaq Composite, the technology index, went through the 20,000 a month later. The S&P500 rose to 6084 and the Nasdaq to 20.173, but both dropped far back under Trumps trading war threats in April, after which a recovery followed this month.
