Under Armor promotes David Baxter to Americas boss

The US sporting goods supplier Under Armor Inc. has appointed a new manager for its home market. On Wednesday evening, the company announced the promotion of David Baxter to President of the Americas.

Baxter joined Under Armor in 2020 and has previously held the position of senior vice president, Americas Wholesale. Previously, he held various senior positions at Adidas and Reebok in the US and served as CEO of retailer Lids Sports Group from 2016 to 2019.

He will take over the post of Under Armor America boss from Stephanie Pugliese on October 24. After her resignation, she will remain with the company until the beginning of next year to ensure a smooth transition, according to a statement.

At the same time, Under Armor announced another promotion: Former Deputy General Counsel, Corporate and Risk, and Assistant Corporate Secretary Mehdi Shadman, also on October 24, will be promoted to Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary. Current Chief Legal Officer John Stanton will retire at the end of the year after 16 years with the company, Under Armor said.
