Unchained Lieke Klaver peaks at the World Athletics Championships with a Dutch record

Lieke Klaver presented her business card at the World Athletics Championships. The 23-year-old athlete from Enkhuizen ran a new Dutch record in the 400 meters. During the series in Eugene, Clover clocked 50.24 seconds, which is a significant improvement from her fastest time ever.

With 50.24 seconds, Klaver takes over Femke Bol’s record. Last year, Bol ran a time of 50.37 in the 400 meters. With the new top time, Klaver is much faster than her personal best. During the Diamond League match in Paris, she set 50.80 as her fastest time. Now she dives under it for more than half a second.

This year’s World Championships in Athletics will be held in the United States. Klaver is still in action in the 400 meters and the 4×400 relay. On Wednesday morning at 03:45 (Dutch time), Klaver will run the semi-final in the 400 meters.
