Unbeatable Femke Bol records sixteenth win in a row in Lausanne in Diamond League | Other sports

Athlete Femke Bol also won the 400 meter hurdles at the Diamond League competitions in Lausanne. It was her sixteenth consecutive victory in the prestigious series.

The 23-year-old Bol came to a time of 52.76 in the Swiss city. The Finnish Viivi Lehikoinen had to give in almost 2 seconds (54.67) and Ayomide Folorunso from Italy was third in 55.12. Never before was Bol so fast in Lausanne, where it was relatively fresh. Partly because of this, an absolute top time was not forthcoming. The three-time European champion recently won in Oslo in 52.30, the best world year time. She would like to dive under 52 seconds.

Bol has not yet reached her personal best of 52.03 this season and the world record of 50.68 of the American Sydney McLaughlin is a long way off, but she is not worried. “I notice that the form is getting better. It was a challenge to move to fourteen paces between the hurdles, but I enjoy it”, Bol said earlier this week. “The adjustments are already paying off, although it still doesn’t feel comfortable. But I need that to improve myself. And I learn every race.”

Bol wants to be at her best during the World Cup in Budapest in August. There she is aiming for the world title, the only prize that is still missing from her well-filled honors list, which already includes Olympic bronze, global silver and European gold.
