Putin justified the decision by Ukraine’s failure to comply with the Minsk agreements and the aggravation of the situation in the Donbass.

Kiev called the incident a violation of the Minsk agreements, the sovereignty and integrity of Ukraine. “We don’t owe anything to anyone. And we will not give anything to anyone,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. In Kiev, the DPR and LPR are considered part of Ukraine.

Putin instructed the Russian military to ensure the maintenance of peace in the DPR and LPR
