UN experts: World could be 1.5 degrees warmer by 2026

According to climate researchers, if the tipping points occur, there is a risk that abrupt, drastic climate changes will exceed the ability of human society to adapt. Consequence could be far-reaching devastation be, one food crisis or a serious one Danger to the drinking water supply. Parts of the world would become uninhabitable, refugee movements of gigantic proportions would start.

Climate scientists cannot specify an exact limit as of which global temperature level tipping points will be exceeded. Therefore, statistical temperature corridors are defined in which the risk for the earth system increases.
