UMCG starts research into the effects of medicinal cannabis oil

The UMCG has started a study into the effect of medicinal cannabis oil (CBM oil) in patients with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). EB is a serious hereditary blistering disease associated with severe pain, chronic wounds and scarring. There is no cure for EB and current pain management is not sufficient. With this study, lead researchers Dr. Marieke Bolling and Prof. Dr. André Wolff and initiator Nic Schräder want to determine within a year whether CBM oil has an influence on the pain experience of these patients.
