Ulm celebrates a shaking victory in the EuroCup

The German basketball champions ratiopharm Ulm started the second half of the EuroCup group phase with a shock victory. Coach Anton Gavel’s team narrowly prevailed against the Italian club Dolomiti Energia Trento with 85:83 (43:42). With seven wins from ten games, the Ulm team are still in fourth place in Group B.

After a balanced start, the Ulm team pulled away with a 13-0 run halfway through the first quarter. But Trent came back, thanks, among other things, to ex-Göttinger Kamar Baldwin and ex-Ludwigsburg Prentiss Hubb, who provided important impetus as part of the starting five. So the game remained close and competitive until the end, the South Tyroleans even supposedly scored the victory with the last three – but the final second had elapsed by a fraction.

The best thrower on the Ulm side was LJ Figueroa with 20 points. On Saturday (6.30 p.m. / Dyn) the Swabians will travel to Chemnitz in the quarter-finals of the BBL Cup, with the Niners facing an exchange of blows between the top duo in the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL).
