Ukrainians in Craft School Emmen: ‘Will all Ladas come here soon?’

The municipality held a meeting for local residents in the former canteen to explain the plan. The lion’s share of visitors seem to come from the adjacent residential complex Stationade. Similarly, a group of men relaxing at a standing table sipping a cup of coffee. “We’re here to get information.”

But they haven’t gotten to it yet. The four gentlemen generally say they have no objections. “Or will all Ladas be parked here soon?”, one wonders aloud.

Another man thinks that the arrival of the new ‘neighbors’ causes a bit of commotion. “I also think it’s great that the municipality of Emmen is filling the gap. There are plenty of other municipalities that do nothing at all.”

Marian, who lives in the Stationade, says she is shocked by the plan. She fears looking into her home. “Yes, that brings some tension, I have lost 20 kilos of the idea,” she says. She has already made an appointment with the municipality. She comes to look at her home to take a closer look. “Maybe there will be a solution,” she hopes.
