The majority of the Russian troops are still at least 50 kilometers away from the center of the Ukrainian capital Kiev on Friday. The military wanted to take the northern city of Chernihiv and push on from there to Kiev, but that plan failed. According to the West, it marks the disappearing momentum on the Russian side.
