Ukraine’s Kateryna Monsul will officiate the match between Inter Milan and Sampdoria Genoa in the women’s Serie A at the invitation of the Italian football association FIGC on Sunday. Among other things, the former world referee officiated at the 2015 World Cup final.
“The European football family has a big heart. Thanks to UEFA and President Alexander Ceferin, we have organized to include our colleague Monsul in the Italian refereeing team so that she can continue to practice her profession at a high level,” said FA President Gabriele Gravina.
“We are proud to welcome her. She is one of the most famous referees in the world: a real role model. We are happy to have her refereeing our championships,” said Alfredo Trantalange, head of the Italian players’ union.
