Ukrainian political adviser tweets remarkable images: “Russians are now also stealing children’s train from Kherson” Abroad

Ukraine yesterday accused the Russian army of looting houses in the southern city of Kherson. Many residents are said to have been evacuated and the Russian army, according to Kiev, would use the houses to house soldiers. According to Ukrainian political adviser Anton Gerashchenko, Russians also fled Kherson with stolen goods. He tweeted a TikTok video from user @alenakherson, which was taken over by the Telegram account of the Ukrainian news channel Obozrevatel. It shows the moving train from an amusement park.

“The Russians ‘evacuated’ (steel) a children’s train from Kherson,” Gerashchenko captioned it. “We were already used to washing machines, but they are now taking it to the next level.” The advisor refers to previous stories of Russian soldiers who made off with washing machines belonging to Ukrainian citizens. Dishwashers, refrigerators, jewellery, motorcycles, toys and computers have already been stolen, writes ‘Insider’.

Ukraine has launched a counter-offensive against the Russians in Kherson. Russia has withdrawn some of its troops from the northwest region, according to a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW). It is still unclear whether Russian forces will continue to defend the city of Kherson, a key junction on the Dnipro River, ISW said. Moscow said the Russians would retreat to regroup east of the river. But Ukraine does not rule out the possibility that this is a trap.
