It is a terribly sad story, but one thing is clear: the 33-year-old Ukrainian woman who threw her baby out of the window in The Hague in February does not belong in a cell but in a clinic. The court in the Dutch city found the woman guilty of manslaughter of her child on Friday, but released her from all prosecution. She is sentenced to TBS (so-called detention) with compulsory treatment.
