Half a year after the start of the Russian war of aggression, the first Ukrainian football league has resumed play.
One day before Ukraine’s Independence Day, Shakhtar Donetsk and FC Metalist 1925 Kharkiv drew 0-0 early Tuesday afternoon. The meeting took place in the Olympic Stadium in Kyiv.
All games of the 16 teams are to be played without spectators in Kyiv or in the west of the country. In addition, all stadiums must be located near an air raid shelter. In the event of a bomb alarm, the games will be interrupted for a maximum of one hour. If it is then not possible to continue playing, they will not be rated or will be postponed.
The second game day is to be played from Saturday to Monday.
