Ukrainian couple marries amid war debris | Abroad

Anton Sokolov and Natasya Gracheva have tied the knot in the ruined Ukrainian city of Kharkov. In their wedding photos, which are now circulating around the world, they pose among the rubble and ruined buildings.

The couple gave each other the yes on Sunday in a metro station of the destroyed Kharkov. After the ceremony, the couple posed outside in the rubble of their city. Not an idyllic location, but the Russian missiles have not lost their love.

Both worked in healthcare. Natasya as a nurse and Anton as a doctor. Since the start of the war, the two have been committed as volunteer aid workers. For example, they helped collect medicines after they were running out.

The eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkov has been badly hit since the outbreak of the war. Russian bombs have destroyed much of the city. Hundreds of thousands of people have fled. Remainers spend most of their time in air-raid shelters.
