Ukraine starts Nations League with victory over Ireland | Foreign football

Ukraine was unable to play official international matches in recent months due to the war in the country. The national team did play some exhibition games against various European clubs in the so-called Global Tour for Peace. Last week the postponed play-off for a World Cup ticket took place. Ukraine won 3-1 against Scotland, but then lost the final against Wales on Sunday with 1-0. Three days later, the Ukrainians started the Nations League in the B division with a win over the Irish.

In the same group, Scotland won 2-0 against Armenia, which had previously been too strong for Ireland 1-0.
