Ukraine: Russian troops shell Mariupol mosque

Russian troops shelled a mosque in Mariupol where more than 80 adults and children had sought refuge, Ukraine’s foreign ministry said on Saturday. It is unclear whether there are any casualties.

Ukraine has accused Russia several times of violating agreements on so-called humanitarian corridors near the southern Ukrainian port city, where hundreds of thousands are trapped because the city is surrounded by Russian troops. However, Russia blames Ukraine for not evacuating people.

Moscow has consistently denied attacking civilian targets in what it calls a special military operation in Ukraine.
