The winter weather also caused problems in the interior of Ukraine. The authorities called on citizens not to make unnecessary trips by car.

In a video address, President Volodymyr Zelensky pointed out to the population that the soldiers are having a particularly hard time in the winter conditions. “Now that things are so difficult, now that the circumstances are so tough, we should all be extremely grateful,” he said.

Schools and government services will also remain closed on Monday on the Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula. There was a power outage in the coastal town of Yevpatoriya, the Russian news agency Tass reported.
