It is the third exchange in a week. On Saturday, Ukraine released nine more Russian soldiers, Russia released twelve Ukrainian soldiers.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s chief of staff Andriy Yermak said it would continue until “until the liberation of the last Ukrainian”. Among the returnees are soldiers captured in the battle around the port city of Mariupol and in “battles in Donetsk, Luhansk and Zaporizhia,” Yermak reported via Telegram messaging service.
Russia said it would fly the released prisoners to Moscow for medical checks and rehabilitation.
