Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stretched to the second clean sheet of his NHL career on Monday night. The Buffalo Sabers guard made 28 saves as his club beat the San Jose Sharks 3-0 at home.
Finnish colors were also seen at the other end. Sharks goalkeeper played Kaapo Kähkönen, who made 33 saves in the match. Kähkönen had to dig the puck from behind his back only twice, as Buffalo scored the third goal on empty nets. Suomalaisvätti’s save percentage was 94.29%.
The Finnish field players of the Sabers and the Sharks, on the other hand, were left without power points. Sabers kit Henri Jokiharjun the game time was marked 19:43 and Sharks Mikael Granlund played 18:37 minutes.
Luukkonen has played 22 matches this season with a save percentage of 90.59%. The Sabers are ranked 13th in the Eastern Conference, while the Sharks are plowing through the Western Conference as a jumbo.
