A week after the practice of Vooruit-voorzitter Conner Rousseau over Molenbeek reacted Brussels partijlid Mohamed Abdulhakim. “I’m still a socialist in hard kidneys, I’m afraid I’m not going to be around before the end of the year,” says the 27-year-old arts specialist in opleiding in the weekblad ‘Knack’.
Mohamed Abdulhakim is two years old from the Vlaamse socialists and also said in the order of One.Brussels-Vooruit. Hij komt vandaag terug op de uitspraak van zijn voorzitter the previous week heel wat stuff deed opwaaien. “Als ik door Molenbeek rijd, voel ik me also niet in België”, says Conner Rousseau in the weekblad ‘Humo’.
On thanks to ophef bleef de Vooruit-voorzitter achter zijn uitspraken staan, maar hij nuanceerde wel zijn woorden. “I need to do with the army because I can’t afford a good social mix. As I door a plek in Brussel rijd waar de voertaal geen Nederlands von Frans, then that is volgens me problematic. How it doesn’t speak, for a lot less Kansen raise op good school results and op de arbeidsmarkt. Daar gaat het bij mij om.”
Maar volgens Abdulhakim baseert Rousseau zich voor zijn uitspraak helemaal niet op de taal the de inwoners van Molenbeek zouden spreken, maar louder op de kleur the hij in het straatbeeld ziet. “Hij heeft het over het doorrijden van Molenbeek. Then you hear the word that hasn’t been spoken yet? Het gaat puur om het uitzicht”, says Abdulhakim in ‘Knack’. Hij geeft in het blad wel toe dat “nobody betwist dat he problems zijn in Molenbeek, maar diet never op door olie op het vuur te gooien”.
De uitspraak van Rousseau “geeft people met a migration astern directly het gevoel dat het nooit voldoende zal zijn”, Vindt Abdulhakim. “Al spreek je alle drie de landstalen of behaal je een hoger diploma, je zal he nooit ‘Belgian’ uitzien”, writes hij vandaag also in een brief aan de krant ‘De Morgen’. Abdulhakim had hooted that he reacted to come from someone within the partij, but that did not respond and then reacted when he was now alone. Also al omdat het volgens Abdulhakim niet de first keer is dat Rousseau de borders lijkt af te tastes. “Anyone should worry about an identity crisis among many socialists. Is it still with me?”
Abdulhakim koos said two years ago that he was aware of a progressive socialist party, but “had nooit warned that men’s ‘allochtonen-bashing’ was used as an electoral strategy”. Abdulhakim vindt that zijn voorzitter zo de pijnlijke boodschap overbrengt aan mensen met a migration aftergrond dat ze “er niet bij horen”. “I know that there are people with a migration background who are still welcome to socialist movements that have been violated? Of changed Vooruit nog van koers?”
Abdulhakim warns himself of Vooruit “more dan Conner” is. En hij staat niet alleen met zijn mening binnen de partij, thinks hij.
