Uefa investigation into accidents before the Champions League final between Real and Liverpool

The commission of inquiry will be chaired by a member of the Portuguese parliament. Before kick-off, Liverpool fans were caught in a rush at the entrance gates, scattered with the use of tear gas and stinging gas

The echo of the incidents outside the Stade de France has not yet died out before the kick-off of the Champions League final on Saturday, which Real Madrid won 1-0 over Liverpool. In fact, UEFA announced today that it had commissioned an independent report on the riots. The review will examine the decision making, accountability and behavior of all entities involved. The head of the commission of inquiry will be Portuguese Tiago Brandão Rodrigues, member of the Portuguese parliament and chairman of the parliamentary committee for the environment and energy. Evidence will be gathered from all interested parties and the results of the report will be made public once completed. UEFA will then evaluate the next steps to be taken.

the fact

Outside the stadium, the police used tear gas and stinging gas to disperse groups of fans who were trying to enter. Previously, before the intervention of the police, about twenty fans had managed to climb over the gates. The problem arose, according to what the police later said, from the fact that many supporters were in possession of fake coupons which therefore did not trigger the entrance gates.
