FC Barcelona has received a penalty of €500,000 from UEFA for making an erroneous statement in 2022

This fine does not jeopardize the participation of the Catalan team in the next Champions League campaign

The First Chamber of the Club Financial Control Committee (CFCB) of the UEFA has imposed a fine of 500,000 euros on Barcelona, ”for making an erroneous statement, in the year 2022benefits from the sale of intangible assets (other than player transfers), which are not relevant income according to the regulations”.

UEFA confirmed this Friday the decisions of the chamber, after concluding the evaluation of the financial balance requirement that covers the years 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

This non-UEFA sanction has nothing to do with the possibility of FC Barcelona being excluded or not from the next edition of the Champions League. That decision corresponds to the appeal committee based on what was investigated about the ‘Negreira Case’.
