Ubisoft is developing three mobile games for Netflix

Netflix wants to continue upgrading in the field of mobile gaming. To this end, the streaming provider will work closely with the developer Ubisoft in the future.

Ubisoft and Netflix are now partners. This was revealed during the annual Ubisoft Forward digital gaming event. So far, Netflix’s success in the gaming sector has been limited. The cooperation with Ubisoft should give the idea new impetus. Three exclusive games are planned for smartphones.

Netflix wants to expand gaming area

At the end of 2021, Netflix started with a manageable number of mobile games. Since then, anyone who has a subscription to the streaming service can access the games for free. However, the enthusiasm of the users has been limited so far, although there are now at least about 30 games to choose from. That’s why Netflix let it be known a few weeks ago that new cooperations are planned, with well-known developers.

Now it is clear that with the French studio Ubisoft there is definitely a big name on board. The company is best known for the “Assassin’s Creed” series, “Far Cry” and “Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six”.

Ubisoft and Netflix are now partners

Among other things, Ubisoft directly confirmed a Netflix offshoot of “Assassin’s Creed”. That’s not a big surprise in this context, since a live-action series of the popular franchise is also planned by the streaming giant. The so far only film adaptation with Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard was not particularly successful. The two products – series and game – should now be closely linked, at least in terms of marketing.

In addition, there should be two more games that Ubisoft is developing exclusively for Netflix, so that a total of three new products are planned:

  • Assassin’s Creed
  • Valiant Hearts
  • MightyQuest

Not much is known about any of the games. Ubisoft’s Valiant Hearts: The Great War has been a huge hit in the past. The company is now developing a sequel for Netflix. The same applies to the “Mighty Quest” game, which is then supposed to be the sequel to the successful mobile game “The Mights Quest for Epic Loot”. The roguelike title is even planned for mid-2023; “Valiant Hearts” should even be ready in early 2023.
