U2 thinks Krezip drummer is doing ‘incredibly well’ | show

U2 is fully rehearsing with stand-in drummer Bram van den Berg from Krezip. According to guitarist The Edge, the Dutch musician is doing ‘incredibly well’.

During the upcoming concert series in Las Vegas, Van den Berg replaces drummer Larry Mullen Jr., who is temporarily out of the running due to surgery. The rehearsals for the shows are ‘fun’ and working with the substitute is good, says The Edge against trade magazine variety. ,,It’s big shoes to fill, because Larry is one of the best drummers of his time, so there’s no question about that. But Bram is doing a great job and I think everyone will be very happy to see us live.”

U2 will perform songs from the album in Las Vegas in September and October Achung Baby (1991), where hits like One and mysterious ways to get up. “The songs sound incredible and it’s just so much fun to play them again,” says the guitarist. “We had a great time in the rehearsal room.”

The Irish band knows the Krezip drummer through Martin Garrix, The Edge told earlier. The Dutch DJ, who has worked with U2 and knows Van den Berg from the Herman Brood Academy, introduced them to each other.
