Tynaarlo makes tiny houses available for refugees

In order to be able to receive Ukrainian refugees immediately, the municipality of Tynaarlo is making available 35 tiny houses at camping Akenveen in Tynaarlo. Also 26 houses, so-called hikers’ huts, at camping De Eswal in Vries are ready for reception.

At the moment, the houses are not yet inhabited by Ukrainian refugees. From this week you can do that at camping Akenveen. The houses of camping De Eswal will be ready for this from 20 April. The coordination of the reception is done through the Drenthe Safety Region.

Campsite De Eswal in Vries has not yet been operational, but will be next week. The Prins Bernardhoeve site in Zuidlaren is also still in the picture as a reception location. In the long term, 100 refugees should be brought there. The location is currently not suitable for this.

The reception of Ukrainian refugees involves costs that the municipality of Tynaarlo can declare to the government. The municipality does not rule out the possibility that other places in the municipality will also be looked at in the future.
