Two young people were robbed and beaten in Prenzlauer Berg on Sunday night.
According to the police, officials had been alerted to a robbery at Helmholtzplatz. According to previous knowledge, two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old were asked by a group of around eight young people to hand over their valuables.
After one refused the request and walked away with his companions, the group is said to have followed them and attacked the 15-year-old and one of the 16-year-olds. The strangers are said to have punched the younger man to the ground, kicked him several times in the upper body and head and stole valuables from him.
The 16-year-old who was attacked said he was also hit to the ground, kicked there and threatened with a knife.
According to him, the perpetrators stole several of his valuables and urinated on him and the 15-year-old. Both were taken to the hospital for inpatient treatment. The second 16-year-old was unharmed.
The police later found a 16 and 17-year-old suspect. According to the police, the older man had traces of blood on his shoe and jacket. The youth’s clothing was confiscated to preserve evidence. Both were then handed over to their legal guardians.
