It is the macabre reception that one or several strangers had prepared for the President of the Principality, Adrián Barbón, and his advisers in San Juan de Beleño (Ponga), where the meeting of the Governing Council was held. Barbón has remembered the “clear” position of his government against the inclusion of the wolf in the List of Wild Species under Special Protection Regime (Lespre), but added that this “is not compatible with what has happened here today, which is a crime,” he stressed.

The mayoress has agreed with Barbón, has condemned the action and has expressed her confidence in that those responsible “pay” for what happened.

Marta Alonso recalled that Ponga is the only Asturian town hall that filed an appeal against the inclusion of the wolf in the list of protected species. “I think that there are democratic channels to claim it. This has nothing to do with the Ponga farmers, nor does it represent this council,” he said, referring to the placement of the heads of the two animals.
