The first LaLiga Genuine 2023/24 weekend was highly positive for the participants of the Fundació Barça, both in sporting terms and in the interaction with the other teams gathered at the Complex Esportiu Futbol Salou. The experience in Tarragona began on Friday with a visit to Port Aventura, where the Barça team met the legendary Javier Saviola, LaLiga ambassador.
On Saturday the 18th, The competition began in the morning, and Fundació Barça won its first match against Fundació Futbol Base Reus (2-1) in a match played for 40 minutes. However, in the afternoon, he suffered a defeat against Sevilla CF, also 2-1. On the morning of Sunday the 19th, the Barça team celebrated another victory, this time 4-0, against Real Zaragoza. Throughout the entire event, the Barça Foundation constantly highlighted the values instilled by the coaches and psychologists in this team.
During this first phase of LaLiga Genuine 2023/24, the patron of the Foundation, Xavier Martínez, and the vice president of the Economic Area of FC Barcelona, Eduard Romeu, accompanied the Fundació Barça Genuine team.
The competition will continue for the Fundació Barça Genuine in its second phase, scheduled for the weekend of February 3 and 4, 2024, at the Bahía de Cádiz Sports City. There, the Barça team will face Córdoba, Osasuna and Girona. Two months later, on April 13 and 14, they will travel to Tenerife to play at the Javier Pérez Sports City against Celta, Levante and Ibiza. Finally, the Fundació Barça Genuine will close the competition at the Fernando Santos de la Parra Sports City in Getafe, on June 8 and 9, facing Mallorca, Nàstic de Tarragona and Valencia.
