Two white towers of Harelbeke disappear

Their building permit has been approved and the demolition will start next year. Harelbeke’s skyline will therefore change drastically. The company’s building permit has already been approved. There was also a falcon that nested in the towers. The nests have been moved to the tower of the Sint-Salvatorkerk under the supervision of Natuurpunt.

“The power station itself, the large building, will continue to exist. Everything around it disappears, including those two towers that stand in the way of loading and unloading. They have applied for a building permit. So, that company will move there and those two towers may collapse in the first half of next year,” said Francis Pattyn, alderman of the city of Harelbeke.
