Two tram accidents

A tram crashed twice on Thursday evening. A man was seriously injured.

Around 9:30 p.m., a tram under the S-Bahn bridge on Friedrichstrasse caught a pedestrian (66) crossing the road. The driver initiated emergency braking, but was unable to prevent a collision.

The man fell and suffered a laceration on his head. The injured man was treated by paramedics at the scene and then taken to a hospital for further treatment.

Barely an hour later, another accident involving a tram – this time on Landsberger Allee.

The driver of a small car rammed a tram at around 10:30 p.m. at the junction with Storkower Straße. Firefighters had to salvage the wrecked car. Luckily no one was injured in the crash.

In both cases, the police investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
