In the tin Transformers universe, humans are reduced to meaningless ants. Try to give such a film a beating heart. Part 7, Rise of the Beasts, which premieres Thursday, makes a valiant attempt to tell a more humane story. As soon as the robots pound each other out of the picture again, that heart immediately stops beating.
