Marco Schuitmaker from Roden became the big winner on Monday during the presentation of the Buma NL Awards.
His hit Guardian Angel written by Pierre Kartner, who died last year, was declared the most successful single of 2023 in Tilburg in 013. The song also received the award for most successful pub hit.
The winners of the prizes are determined based on sales and airplay figures. Behind Guardian Angel ended Tonight (From My Bol) by Kris Kross Amsterdam, Donnie and Tino Martin and In Spain by Mart Hoogkamer in second and third place in the top 10 of most successful singles.
Hans Aalberts, who in the past worked with André Hazes Sr. and Gerard Joling, among others, received the award for best producer and composer Tom Peters was declared Dutch Master. Tony van de Berkt received the Industry Award.
