The provisional list of candidates for 50PLUS for the upcoming House of Representatives elections includes two people from Drenthe. Jan Fonhof from Assen is the highest ranked, in 9th place. Martin Hornis from Emmen is in 23rd place.
The Assenaar served on the Emmen municipal council for 50PLUS. He stopped working on the council because he moved to Assen. He was the party leader for the Provincial Council elections in March. 50PLUS failed to obtain a seat in Drenthe.
The list of 28 candidates will be determined during an additional members meeting on September 30. Ellen Verkoelen is the party’s intended party leader. 50PLUS is now missing from the House of Representatives. In the 2021 elections, the elderly party received one seat with Liane den Haan, but she left the party two months later due to a conflict with the board.
The House of Representatives elections are on November 22.
