Two people arrested in Pakistan after 6 schoolchildren and 2 teachers are trapped in cable car for hours | Abroad

One of the detainees is the owner of the cable car, reports the Dawn newspaper. Police also arrested an employee. The authorities suspect the duo of negligence. They would have endangered the lives of their passengers. An investigation into what went wrong is still ongoing.

The passengers were trapped in the gondola on Tuesday due to a cable break. As a result, the cabin ended up hanging crookedly over a ravine. Rescue workers used a helicopter and an intact cable to evacuate the group.

The funicular was locally regarded as an important means of transport. The inhospitable area lacks roads and bridges. This means that students are also dependent on the connection. Three of those youths went to school on foot the day after they were rescued. After hours of walking, they were told that they had successfully completed their school year.
