WEB EYEWEAR becomes official eyewear partner of Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN
Longarone (BL) – Hinwil, WEB EYEWEAR and the Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN enter into a multi-year partnership from 2022 and become the main players in a new adventure of the unique Formula 1 World Championship.
The history of heroic drivers connects these two brands. The WEB brand was inspired by the goggles worn by the first civil aviation pilots in the 1930s. After years of accompanying people on exciting journeys, the WEB EYEWEAR story is now changing and evolving as the company breaks new ground by partnering with Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN in what is arguably the most exclusive motorsport in the world.
Both brands are poised to shine this year. WEB EYEWEAR, Marcolin’s own brand since 2008, one of the world’s leading eyewear manufacturers, aims to expand its international reach by enhancing its image with a new look, a production process based on cutting-edge techniques and high-quality materials. The Swiss team Sauber Motorsport, which coordinates the appearance of Alfa Romeo – one of the most renowned racing brands in Italy and around the world – in Formula 1, is one of only ten teams in the world entitled to carry the prestigious title “F1 Team”. From 2022, the team is pushing its history of innovation and technological prowess to compete at the highest level in one of the most exciting championships in Formula 1 history.
These new partners have announced their shared goal of becoming the main players starting next season and look forward to taking the spotlight on the world stage. “WEB EYEWEAR’s goal is to write a new chapter in its history, credible and in line with the brand’s tradition, and to look ahead on an international stage,” explains Fabrizio Curci, President and CEO of Marcolin . “The partnership with Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN is certainly a great asset on this journey. We are thrilled to be entering the world of Formula 1 alongside such an important brand”.
Frédéric Vasseur, Team Principal of Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN, adds: “We are very excited to start the journey with WEB EYEWEAR. The brand’s style commitment is a perfect match for our team, a blend of Italian elegance and Swiss precision – we are proud to step onto the world stage alongside this prestigious brand. We’re excited to create a capsule collection with her and can’t wait to bring it to our fans later this year.”
Thanks to the partnership between WEB EYEWEAR and Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN, the new look of the WEB EYEWEAR brand will appear on the Team C42 cars, helmets and suits of drivers Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou, and will also be underscored by the development of a capsule collection with dynamic design and refined details, with sunglasses and optical frames born from the passion for sport and great technical research, available from the second half of 2022.
