two new lines from spring 2023

Clothing retailer Esprit Holdings Ltd. will offer two new lines in spring 2023: Esprit White Label and Esprit Black Label will be available for the order season in July.

However, both are in a higher price segment than the main Esprit Collection, but should remain affordable and not switch to the luxury segment, according to Esprit CEO William Pak in an interview with the textile industry.

The two labels that offer menswear and womenswear will launch a new collection every month. While Esprit Black Label is aimed more at the premium market with a “more upscale and fashionable” collection, according to Pak, Esprit White Label is said to be more affordable and aimed at “young, vivacious and price-conscious” customers.

The new lines are part of Esprit’s efforts to gain more access to consumers and offer new products especially to young customers. Discussions with consumer groups and an evaluation of online sales data revealed that this target group is looking for premium products.

Of course, these premium products must also have the appropriate quality, which according to Pak was “too bad” and is also improving for the other lines of the brand, Esprit Collection, Esprit Casual and Edc. To this end, the company inspected around 200 suppliers in Asia, its main sourcing region. These have now been reduced to a two-digit number.

New SVP Central Design

Since June, Esprit has also had a new Senior Vice President Central Design in Thomas Cawson, who will report to Chief Product Officer Sang Langill, who was hired in September. Cawson directs the creative output of all international Esprit design centers to “elevate our collections and messages for a global audience,” Cawson says per LinkedIn.

Prior to his appointment as head of core design, Cawson had served as creative director in an advisory capacity since July 2021.
