Two more stabbings in a week with four knife attacks in Barcelona

Two more stabbings in Barcelona in the last hours culminate a week in which at least four attacks with a knife in the middle of the street have transpired. The Mossos d’Esquadra have reported that they have arrested six people linked to two different altercations. The agents have arrested two people this morning allegedly involved in a brawl; the other four arrests are related to a violent robbery that occurred in the Raval this Thursday.

Catalan police accuses the two detainees this past morning of having attacked other people with knives in a fight that started around 4:45 am at the intersection of Marina and Mallorca streets, as reported by ‘El Caso’. One of those arrested suffered stab wounds.

Secondly, the Mossos have arrested two other suspects and the Urban Guard two more for allegedly stabbing a person to rob him. The violent robbery happened this Thursday at 8:00 p.m. on Sant Josep Oriol street, in Raval.

The two events have followed two other recent stabbings, all occurring within a seven-day window. The first altercation of the two happened on Thursday of last week, in the Plaza dels Àngels. Two men got into a fight that ended with one man stabbing the other with a knife., in broad daylight and in front of the Macba entrance. The aggressor was arrested and charged with an alleged crime of attempted murder. Two days later, a similar scene was repeated in the Plaza del Mar, in Barceloneta. In that case, a young man stabbed a man who had previously hit a girl.
