Ice hockey’s NHL superstar Austin Matthews26, roared past the 50-goal mark in the round of the night.

Matthews scored two goals for the Toronto Maple Leafs, when the team beat the Arizona Coyotes 6–3 early Thursday morning in Finnish time.

Matthews scored a 2–0 goal in the opening set and a 4–2 goal in the second set. The number of goals for the American is now 51. The hits have been made in 54 matches.

The superstar’s goal pace is amazing. No other player has broken the 40 goal mark this season.

Matthews is well over 70 goals on the steady pace table. The current ferocious pace would see up to 76 goals, with which Matthews would rise to tied for fifth place in the number of goals in one season in NHL history.

Teemu Selänne and Alexander Mogilny scored 76 goals in the 1992–93 season. Phil Esposito on the other hand, reached 76 goals in the 1970–71 season.
