Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the threats against Femke Halsema. The Public Prosecution Service confirms this AT5. The mayor received the threats after Ajax’s championship ceremony on the Museumplein was canceled this year.
A total of five suspects have now been arrested in the case. In June it was announced that three persons from Hollands Kroon, Culemborg and Dokkum were arrested.

The five suspects initially go a mediation conversation with the mayor. The Public Prosecution Service does not rule out that they will still be prosecuted afterwards. The outcome of the conversation can influence that decision, but is not leading, says a spokesperson. The Public Prosecution Service also says that the investigation into the case is still ongoing. It is therefore possible that more arrests will be made.
The tribute of Ajax on the Museumplein could not take place because it failed to hire enough security guards. The team was therefore honored in the Johan Cruijff Arena.
