Co-favorite Meyers Taylor lurks in third place
In third place lurks U.S–crew Elana Meyers Taylor/ Sylvia Hoffman (+ 0.22 seconds). The third German bob with Kim Kalicki/Lisa Buckwitz (Wiesbaden/Potsdam) in sixth place is a good half a second behind (+0.57). Monobob Olympic champion Kaillie Humphries is still in the running with her brakewoman Kaysha Love in fourth (+ 0.37). the U.Spilot had won gold in twos in 2010 and 2014.
Nolte sets the best time early on
Laura Nolte really wants a medal after the thankless fourth place in the monobob in the twos. With start number four, she was the first of the favorites to get on the track and, despite a mistake in turn six, set the best time. Jamanka, Olympic champion of 2018, touched the barrier twice in the upper part, but still kept a high speed to the finish. For the two leading teams became exactly the same top speed measured: 131.9 km/h.
